SITES
Le Poet Laval and Dieulefit.

Le Poet Laval is one of the 144 “les plus beaux villages de France” from the 12th century. The existing houses date mostly from the 15th century, when the “Templiers” occupied the Castle. The covered street makes this village very picturesque.

Bonds with Protestantism are well known. A museum is dedicated to this subject.

Dieulefit is famous for its pottery and terra cotta. You can visit the workplaces or the “ La maison de la terre du Pays de Dieulefit", the artist’s creations are exposed there.

Saou, Crest and Die

 

Crest has the highest donjon (keep) of France . On the road to Die lays the charming village of Pontaix. Die – with its Gallo Roman passed – is since the Roman occupation well known for his “Clairette de DIE”.

Nyons – Le petit Nice

The quality of the olive oil has reputed. The olives of Nyons are of the black variety and the pressing mills are still numerous. The “scroutinnerie” still manufacturers the coconut felts used for the pressing of the oliveraies. Nyons has a very dry and hot climate, and therefore known as “Le petit Nice”. The market takes places every Thursday.
